This design is far more than a cross stitch pattern—it's a tribute to my grandpa, Robert "Gateway Bob" Rosenthal, and the childhood memories I cherish from growing up around his tropical fish business, Gateway Tropical. While researching my family's history, I discovered that my Grandpa was a pioneer of the Pacific Northwest reef aquarium hobby and that the famous Oregon Tort coral (charted in smaller design) traces its history back to his little shop, a legacy I never knew while he was alive. Learning how deeply he impacted the aquarium community make this one of the most meaningful designs I've ever created.
