Vintage Postcards Collection
Inspired by a charming series of vintage embroidery postcards distributed by El Cafeto Coffee (Madrid, Spain) during the 1940s–1950s, this collection brings back a delightful chapter of Spanish needlework history.
These postcards were created as educational and recreational embroidery cards for young girls. Each one featured a printed design together with simple instructions encouraging stitchers to embroider the illustration using silk, wool or cotton threads, while freely choosing their own colour combinations and adding a personal touch to every piece.
The original cards celebrated creativity, patience and the joy of learning embroidery, inviting each stitcher to transform a printed illustration into a unique handmade treasure.
Carefully recreated from the original postcards preserved in my private collection, these designs revive their nostalgic charm for a new generation of stitchers while preserving the spirit of the originals.
